Renault Laguna: Fault Codes P2263 & P0488

A Renault Laguna 2.0 DCI was presented to us. The car was driving, but lacked power and was emitting black smoke out of the exhaust under acceleration.

Fault codes present were:

• Fault Code P2263 Turbocharging pressure regulation circuit
• Fault Code P0488 Exhaust gas recirculation valve position control

We immediately got the Smoke Pro tool out and instead of Saturday night dancing, we smoked the intercooler system and soon found a leak. A new intercooler was fitted and the job was done.
