Mercedes Benz eVito not Charging

This vehicle was presented to us with 5% charge left in the high voltage battery with no means of charging. It wouldn’t charge – slow or fast (AC or DC).

The vehicle would accept the charging cable and lock it into position. It would momentarily start charging and then just stop, cut the power and illuminate the red fault light within the charge port.

We had one glaring fault code to give us direction: P0D3EFB – the sensor ‘input voltage of onboard charger’ has a malfunction.

Direction it did indeed give us and some specific testing was carried out. It became apparent during the process that the charge port and cables had already been replaced.

These components were tested and verified for correct operation and they proved to be working fine.

More testing was carried out and the faulty component was identified.

A Genuine replacement was bought from Mercedes; It was then fitted and programmed to the vehicle in-house.

Result: Vehicle charging again and back on the road!
