A 2011 Toyota Prius was presented to us recently with the message: Check Hybrid System on the dash. A scan revealed the fault code P0A80 – Replace hybrid battery pack.

For these faults, we always carry out a series of tests to ascertain the actual true health of the High Voltage Battery. After all, it would be fool hardy to condemn the battery if it was just one or two modules bringing it down. From these evidence based tests, we can advise on the most cost effective way forward.

High quality, reconditioned High Voltage Batteries are readily available and are not cost prohibitive. We have built a relationship with a trusted supplier. There is no need for any coding or programming – they just replace the old battery and are ‘plug and play’.

If your existing battery only has one or two faulty modules (cells), cell replacement is probably the best way forward. Faulty cells are replaced and cell voltages balanced. Simple.

For any Toyota Prius ‘Check Hybrid System’ faults, please do get in touch. Remember: our advice is always FREE!
